One thing you can do to get out the word about KYAL is to host a teen share fair for your region. It is pretty simple:
- Pick a date, time and location.
- Contact YA librarians in your neighborhood of the state and invite them to join in the sharefest.
- Have everyone fill out a simple card explaining a teen program they have done that worked for them. Each participant brings enough copies for everyone at the share fair.
- Buy some modest snacks and fruit punch.
- Open the doors and let the sharing begin! One by one you can talk about your programs so that you don't have to repeat yourself 10 times over.
- Leave time at the end for socializing and networking (this is the time to encourage everyone to join KYAL for more fun).
- Send everyone home with a copy of the info sheet for each activity shared.
- Bask in the wonderousness that is being a teen librarian!
